Romeo erased a 10-point deficit and beat Division 1 No. 3 Macomb Dakota, 17-10, in a MAC Red division matchup Thursday.
Down ,10-0, with less than a minute left in the first half, Romeo (1-1, 1-0 Red) drove the ball 92 yards scoring as time expired when quarterback Blake Laurain found Justin Medley for a 13-yard pass to cut the halftime lead to 10-3. The duo connected earlier in the drive for a 55-yard screen pass.
"That drive was huge going into the half and it gave our team a lot of confidence," Romeo co-head coach Jason Couch said. "We were in the game the whole time in the first half and this was an example to the guys that we can stay in it."
After Ashley Flynn's 23-yard field goal tied the game in the third quarter, Romeo's Ryan Burkard scored on a 4-yard run with 7:21 left in the game to put the Bulldogs up for good.
Burkard finished with 124 yards on 20 carries. Laurain went 14-for-26 for 208 yards.
Dakota drops to 1-1 overall (1-1 MAC Red).

Clawson 44, Warren Lincoln 14: Josh Forsythe had eight carries for 181 yards and two TDs, and Deshawn Gilbert had an 88-yard kickoff return for a TD for Clawson (2-0, 1-0 MAC Bronze). Deonte Hill had 10 tackles. Lincoln is 0-2, 0-1.
Clinton Twp. Chippewa Valley 28, Warren Mott 13: Paul Miller went 5-for-6 passing for 241 yards and two TDs for Chippewa Valley (1-1, 1-0 MAC Red). Joe Bastone and Demi Brigham both had TD receptions for the Big Reds.
Grosse Pointe South 10, Port Huron Northern 7: John Parker kicked a 24-yard field goal with 16 seconds left for South (1-1, 1-0 MAC Blue). QB Ben Fry went 13-for-24 for 144 yards and one TD and Victor Mattison had eight catches for 87 yards and a TD for the Blue Devils.
Madison Heights Lamphere 20, Warren Fitzgerald 12: Ryan Horvath completed 9-of-13 passes for 147 yards and two TDs, both to receiver Mitch Kozlowski (five catches, 113 yards) to lead Lamphere (2-0, 1-0 Silver). Kozlowski also scored on a 35-yard punt return. Jackson Lewis and Peter McAlpine led the defense, combining for 30 tackles. Fitzgerald is 1-1, 0-1.
Marine City 42, Madison Heights Madison 27: Jamel Abrams ran 13 times for 120 yards and three TDs for Marine City (2-0, 1-0 MAC Gold). Valdez Showers rushed 20 times for 99 yards and a score for Madison (1-1, 0-1 MAC Gold).
St. Clair Shores South Lake 46, Center Line 0: Casual Williams ran for 108 yards and two TDs and Marcus Anderson scored three TDs for South Lake (1-1, 1-0 MAC Bronze).
Utica Eisenhower 7, Sterling Heights Stevenson 3: Yousseff Bujaidar of Eisenhower (2-0) caught a 22-yard TD pass from Joey Zerafa. Endri Lulasni kicked a 26-yard field goal for Stevenson (0-2).
Utica Ford 33, Grosse Pointe North 30: Keith Lamb rushed for 110 yards and two TDs for Ford (1-1).
Warren Woods Tower 21, Clinton Twp. Clintondale 7: Ray Nance had eight carries for 114 yards and scored a TD for Tower (2-0, 1-0 MAC Silver). Clintondale is 1-1, 0-1.

Detroit Loyola 26, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 0: Montel Cooks went 4-for-8 passing for 106 yards and one TD for Loyola (2-0). Amos Houston scored on a 56-yard interception return and had two interceptions for the Bulldogs.

Wyandotte Roosevelt 62, Lincoln Park 7: Tyler Dunn scored three TDs, including one on an 80-yard kickoff return, and Mitchell Kell had two TD passes for Wyandotte (2-0, 2-0 Downriver). Lincoln Park is 0-2.

Milford 49, Wayne Memorial 12: Lucas Johnson threw for 287 yards and three TDs for Milford (2-0), and Nick Shatney had 161 yards and three TDs on four receptions. Billy Schornle had 11 tackles. Memorial is 0-2.
Northville 58, Waterford Kettering 10: Anthony Peraino threw three TD passes for Northville (2-0). Matt Celentino and Levi Perry each caught a TD pass. Kettering is 0-2.
Walled Lake Central 35, Plymouth Salem 23: QB Zac Leimbach had TD passes of 14 (Conor Rezenik) and 29 (Shane Daykin) yards for Central (1-1). Leimbach ran for scores of 15 and 9 yards. Salem is 0-2.

Ferndale 28, Bloomfield Hills Lahser 13: Anthony Garland rushed for 239 yards and two TDs for Ferndale (1-1). David Anderson had 12 tackles and Javon Edwards had two sacks.
North Farmington 12, Birmingham Groves 6: Zach Washington went 11-for-17 for 72 yards and one TD for North Farmington (1-1, 1-1 OAA Blue). Jeon Collier had an 85-yard kickoff return for Groves (1-1, 1-1).
Troy 38, Royal Oak 12: QB Justin Losey was 4-for-5 passing for 53 yards, with TD passes to Chris Michael and Michael Bishop to lead Troy (2-0). Linebacker John Mattar had 10 tackles, including a sack.

Romulus 45, Annapolis 6: Chris Parish had 16 tackles for Romulus (2-0). Jerry McCray had 140 yards on six carries, and scored three TDs. Devon White had a 75-yard kickoff return. Annapolis is 0-2.

Berkley 55, Charlotte 20: Terry Porter of Berkley (2-0) rushed for 154 yards and three scores, including a 74-yard TD run on the first play from scrimmage. QB Ryan Bartolacci three two TD passes and rushed for one for Charlotte (0-2).

River Rouge 28, Hamtramck 8: Fullback Canaan Smith scored on runs of 2 and 1 yard for Rouge (2-0). Freshman Kajuan White scored on a 25-yard run and William Wright closed the scoring on a 26-yard run. Hamtramck is 0-2.

University Preparatory 33, Cesar Chavez 25: Ronald Riggs threw for 175 yards and two TDs for Prep (2-0). Javion Wimberly had 103 yards and two TDs on four receptions, and Darrius Hill ran for 160 yards and three TDs on 16 carries. Daron Hill threw for 305 yards and three TDs for Chavez (1-1).
