JOSH HARRIS | Linebacker/Mason County
Only the third Mason County player to make the first team, Harris is the only underclassman on the defensive side of the ball./p>
JOSH HARRIS
Harris starred on both sides of the ball but is one of the state's elite prospects as a linebacker. He joins offensive lineman Andy Fryman (2002) and wide receiver Chris Lofton (2003) as Royals to make the first team.
"Josh Harris is an elite person of character," coach David Buchanan said. "He has a talent and instinct for finding the football unlike any player I've coached or coached against."
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Harris finished with a team-high 107 tackles and also had two interceptions and one fumble recovery. He rushed for 1,126 yards and 19 touchdowns and caught 14 passes for 306 yards and five TDs.
Harris had 144 tackles as a sophomore.
"He craves contact and is an extremely physical football player," Buchanan said. "He is talented and physical enough to play any position on either side of the ball. It's scary to think how good he will be as a senior."
Kentucky, Ohio State, Louisville, LSU and Georgia are among the schools that have called.
