The Blue Devils (3-2, 2-0 MAC Blue) came out after halftime and scored on a 52-yard run by Benjamin Fry to take a 7-0 lead on a play drawn up by senior linebacker Reggie Lewis.
"Lewis drew up the play at halftime and said run to his side and he'll block off his guy," said South coach Tim Brandon.
The Blue Devils extended their lead to 14-0, after a 50-yard touchdown run from Edward Mollison with seven minutes remaining.
The Norsemen (1-4, 0-3 MAC White) attempted to rally after Jeff Sarkaf scored on a five-yard run with less than a minute left in the game. The Norsemen then tried an onside kick but was unsuccessful.
Mollison ran for 113 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries, and Fry ran for 86 yards and one TD.
After losing to Dakota last week Brandon said, "I told my guys we have to come out and play with passion."
Jack Doyle led the Blue Devils' defense with 15 tackles. Will Reeves had 13 tackles and one sack and Lewis had 11 tackles and one sack.
Brandon was an assistant coach at North under head coach Frank Sumbera for 14 years.
"It was an awesome feeling to win," Brandon said. "Sumbera was a mentor and I respect him greatly."
